Surrogacy, explained in plain language

Surrogacy comes with a lot of new words, a few real decisions, and rules that change from one state to the next. This is where we gather what we know, written the way we would explain it to a friend across the kitchen table.

Where to start today

Six pages that cover the ground most people are standing on when they first reach out. Read in any order; each one links onward to the details.

For surrogates

Becoming a surrogate

What the role actually asks of you, who qualifies, how matching works, and the support that stays with you from screening through delivery. We cover the medical side plainly, alongside the rewarding parts.

For intended parents

Surrogacy for intended parents

How the path to parenthood is built when you cannot carry a pregnancy yourself, including matching, the people in your corner, and what the agency coordinates so you are not assembling it alone.

For donors

Egg donation

Who can donate, what the screening and retrieval involve, and the support and compensation around it. Written for women still weighing the decision, as much as for the ones who already said yes.

What we are writing next

These are the topics we are drafting now. Each one publishes here as it is ready, with a real author and a real publish date, so the library grows with pieces worth your time rather than filler.

Real stories

Stories from surrogates and parents

First-person accounts from people we have worked with, shared with their permission, in their own words.

Choosing well

How to choose a surrogacy agency

The questions worth asking any agency, ours included, before you commit, and the answers that tell you whether the support is real.

Support

Surrogacy and mental health

How counseling and emotional support work through screening, pregnancy, and the weeks after birth, for surrogates and parents alike.

Medical

The medical process, step by step

Screening, transfer, and pregnancy care explained without the jargon, so nothing about it feels like a surprise.

Legal

State-by-state legal deep dives

Closer looks at the states where the rules are particular, building on the overview in our laws guide.

LGBTQ+ families

Building a family as LGBTQ+ parents

What the path looks like for same-sex couples and single parents by choice, from someone who has walked it with families before.

Where to start while we write the rest

A few quick answers about the library itself, so you know where to look while it fills in.

Where should I start while the library grows?

Start with How surrogacy works for the full picture, then read the hub that fits you: surrogates, intended parents, egg donors, or sperm donors. Those pages are live now and already detailed. Two of the most-asked topics have full guides as well: what surrogacy costs and who can be a surrogate.

When will full articles and stories be published?

We are writing them now and publishing as each one is ready, rather than all at once. We would rather post a few pieces worth your time than fill the page to look busy. When an article goes live, it will carry a real author and publish date.

Does Lily Baby Surrogacy cover egg and sperm donation too?

Yes. Alongside matching surrogates with intended parents, we coordinate egg and sperm donation, and we welcome LGBTQ+ families. The donor pages above explain how each program works.

How do I ask a question that is not answered yet?

Call or text us at (626) 528-6868, or use the contact page. A real person on our team reads it and follows up, and your question often becomes the next thing we write.

Reading only gets you so far

At some point a real conversation answers more than any article can. When you're ready to talk surrogacy, we're here.
